Progess

So that last day has been a good one for Finn. Yesterday Finn pulled his breathing tube out at 7 am. He was done having all the tubes all over him. He looks so much better and is breathing room air all by his self. Sophie is still doing great...she is just a precious little angel, so calm and happy. Everytime I see these little guys I just wanna cry...we love em so much. Ash is also doing so good. I can't believe how tiny her belly is already...When we look at both of the babies we can't believe that they were both in her tummy...They are both so precious

Unexpected bundles of Joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After a worldwind day Ash and I are sitting up in our little hospital room enjoying our first morning as PARENTS. Let me back track about 36 hours ago. Ash started having bad stomach pains about 9:30-10:00 pm...so we went to the hospital with no intentions of having our babies. Ash was in so much pain, but was not having contractions. After hours and hours of tests they decided that she had H.E.L.P syndrome that is brought on by pregnancy. To make a long story short, if we didn't take the babies when we did, what Ash had would have been fatal. The babies were fine, they would just be about 7 weeks early. So our Doctor got to the Hospital about 8:00 am and told us that we have to take the babies. After calling some family, we were off to the OR to deliever. From the start of anesthitic to finishing stiching Ash up it was less then an hour. the babies came out great and Ash did amazing. It was all such a whirl wind for us. It sucked because they showed us the babies for about 1 sec and then took the babies to the NICU. Sophie came out first at 9:34 am and Finn was just 2 minutes behind at 9:36 am August 26th 2008. They were both about 17 inches. They are both little angels...I can't even stand it :) Ash and I feel a little cheated because we have only been able to hold her for a few minutes each and we still haven't been able to hold him. They have to stay in the NICU so we just sit in our room and want to have our babies...We love em so much!!! Sophie is being such a big girl and breathing all by her self. Finn is having a little harder time breathing, but he is a fighter and is doing better every hour. We feel so blessed that they are here and Ash is ok....It was really scary how fast everything happened, but Ash was getting worse very quickly so everything had to happen fast.
Here are a few pics, and we will put some more on later
Thanks for all of the love and support.
Love
Audy Ash Finn Sophie

The Belly

As Ash gets closer and closer to delivering our little babies her belly seems to be getting a mind or minds of its own. There are feet, hands, heads, pretty much everything is poking out of her....
Meka seems to like the belly....she uses it as a chair, already trying to dominate these little babies...She rarly will even go into their rooms, which I guess is a good thing...hopefully she will be good with them.
The Doc now won't even let ash go to the store and in so many words said she has to be on bed rest, which means I am in charge...Looks like a lot of popsicles are in store for the Smoot house:)

Finn and Sophie in 4D

Here is a fun little 4D picture of Finn. His face is smashed for a numbers of reasons, probably because his sisters feet are behind him and his face is pressed up against the placenta.(hence the pig nose) I know it is kind of a scary picture. We were so excited to see him in in 4D...He weights 4 pounds, and we could see some hair on the back of his head!!!!

Sophie on the other hand is about as far down as possible and we were not able to get a picture good enough to do the 4D pic...so we just have the normal ultra sound picture. She weights 3 pounds 2 ounces. Ash is doing so well the doctor can't believe it. She is pretty uncomfortable, but is enjoying the experience They both are little movers and shakers and they keep Ash on her toes... Probably a sure sign of things to come...
